Our history

A_Grillo Restaurant & Wine was born from a deep friendship, from our passion for food and wine and from the desire to share all this with this city that has given us so much and welcomed us with so much enthusiasm.

A_Grillo Restaurant & Wine is located in the heart of the historic center of Imperia Porto Maurizio, the Parasio, a medieval center rich in architectural works and offering breathtaking views that only a village overlooking the sea has.

Vincenzo in the kitchen, Alessandro in the dining room, a story of friendship that was born in 2011, in the Agrodolce restaurant of Chef Andrea Sarri.

Vincenzo subsequently leaves Imperia for new work experiences, including the Apsley’s by Chef Heinz Beck restaurant, the Maldives in collaboration with the Jeune Restaurateur d’Europe association and therefore in close contact with the best chefs in Italy and later takes the reins of the kitchen of the Sasseo Restaurant in S. Maria della Versa and in Geneva before returning to Imperia in the new Sarri Restaurant …

where Alessandro continued his collaboration with the Sarri family for eight years as a sommelier and previously came from two important experiences such as the Poggio alla Sala Resort in Montepulciano in Tuscany and Villa Crespi in Orta San Giulio by Chef Cannavacciuolo.

In 2020 the idea of getting involved, led us to create A_Grillo, a restaurant with a modern, essential and tasty cuisine, with the use of local products and with greater attention to the vegetarian world. In the cellar, a selection of small Italian and international producers, who highlight the territoriality and respect for nature.
